Everyday you watch the stock ticker spit out symbol after symbol with numbers after them. You know they are stock symbols but you really don’t understand what the numbers behind them mean. Does that sound like you? Are you in need of some stock investment basics?
You then are surfing through your TV channels at home and you come upon a business show. You proceed to listen to what is being said but most of it goes over your head. You know they are talking about stocks but when they through around all those terms like shorting stocks, diversifying your portfolio, margin calls, buying on margin and margin trading, limit orders and a million other terms, you know that you have a lot to learn.
Online investing for beginners is not something you will learn right away. It is something you will learn throughout your life if you become interested in it. Stock investing is something that should be taken carefully and slowly or else it will resemble gambling. You shouldn’t just go out and pick any stock and throw your money at it.
Right now there is a lot of doubt about the New York Stock Exchange and the safety of buying stocks. Of course we have had a huge market correction and many people are scared to buy back in. Others don’t trust the reporting of these major companies after Enron, CitiGroup and others have been linked to so much scandal. The Bernie Madoff ponzi scheme where thousands of people lost thier savings hasn’t helped either.
How to buy stocks hasn’t changed but people’s confidence in the financial reports coming out of these compainies has. How is the beginner invester who wants to learn the stock market supposed to pick stocks to invest in when the company Presidents could be lying? How is anybody supposed to trust anything they hear? It is a big question that has a lot of investors scared to open up their wallets anymore.
It also has foreign governments like China pulling back their investments. The United States is in more debt, a lot more debt actually, than ever before and one wonders how these big companies are going to survive. They need people to spend money and if the people don’t have it then what?
Online investing for dummies is what some people are beginning to view the market as. The expression “cash is king” has never been more accurate and people stuff thier mattresses and buy no risk cd’s which hardly pay anything in interest.
